23rd August 2006 - RELOCATION OF OUR BUSINESS

UPKEEP has re-located the business in order to facilitate our current business growth.
We moved to larger, adjacent premises at 24 Fenella Street, Shettleston on 23rd August 2006.   This gives us much more storage space and is an ideal HQ at this stage of our development.

This enabled us to diversify into some new activities – handy person services, painting and recycling.   The labour force has been increased to enable us deliver these new services effectively and to a high standard.   We have enjoyed two year's successful trading results and, as a social firm, have ambitions to continue increasing the employment potential of local people, provide some jobs for disabled and/or disadvantaged residents and tailor all our services directly to the prevailing needs within our community.

UPKEEP Business Manager Victor Willis gave a presentation at the SOCIAL FIRMS SCOTLAND conference on 27th March 2006. To download a copy of the Powerpoint presentation, please Click Here

On Friday, 25th November 2005, Mr Frank McAveety, MSP, officially launched UPKEEP at an event held at Shettleston Baptist Church Hall in Amulree Street, Shettleston.

Mr. McAveety was happy to welcome the new social firm and said that UPKEEP would be a very valuable asset to enhance the appearance of the environment within the local Shettleston community.
